Thought for Today

“When you are in the final days of your life, what will you want?
Will you hug that college degree in the walnut frame?
Will you ask to be carried to the garage so you can sit in your car?
Will you find comfort in rereading your financial statement?

Of course not.
What will matter then will be people.
If relationships will matter most then,
shouldn’t they matter most now?”

  1. This is true, unfortunately many don't realize it until they are nearing the end. Very touching.

  2. Bill and Mary - Inside I feel like a teenager (a really astute, insightful teenager), but I'd be lying if I said I'm not feeling my age outwardly. I'm not even middle-aged (unless I live to well past the century mark).

I am thankful for so much--but none of the things for what I will give thanks this Thursday are "things". I treasure family; my children are adults and I find that with the years we become closer.
